Lofelt firmware is the first in the industry to process any audio signal to generate rich, natural, haptic feedback in real-time. As haptic technology becomes more widely-accessible and essential to a range of industries, Lofelt is working closely with industry-leading companies to provide Lofelt haptics to their customers.

We’re happy to be the first haptics company to work with the Qualcomm® Extension Program, which extends the capabilities of Qualcomm Technologies International, Ltd. (QTIL)’s Bluetooth Audio system-on-chips (SoCs) with third-party software. Lofelt’s real-time audio-to-haptic conversion now runs on Qualcomm® CSR8670 and Qualcomm® CSR8675 platforms and can be combined with an external hardware motor to help customers integrate high-definition haptic experiences at much lower cost.

This audio-to-haptics technology is designed to deliver the deep feeling of sound, impossible to recreate with audio speakers alone. The solution is fully-customizable, and partners will be able to license the software supported by Qualcomm CSR8670 and Qualcomm CSR8675 SoCs to integrate haptics into products such as headphones, smartphones, game controllers and beyond.

Lofelt CTO Gwydion ap Dafydd, adds “We’re thrilled to be included in the Qualcomm Extension Program. By working together closely with QTIL, our firmware will help build a new generation of devices on the cutting edge of audio and gaming using QTIL’s Bluetooth solutions. As the first haptic solution to be added to the program, we look forward to working on innovative technologies with such a respected, forward-thinking team.”

The Qualcomm Extension Program is designed to extend the capabilities of QTIL’s Bluetooth Audio platforms by providing manufacturers with the opportunity to select from a unique set of software IPs that they can license from program members, which in turn can help their customers deliver new features and differentiate their products.
